Mobile App DIscussion

For my week 2 discussion on mobile/app review I went with Mobile Patrol, it is an app that stays updated with recent jail booking in my local area. My family is local bondsman in surrounding counties, so the app is useful. When the app first loads it always pops-up rather you want to sign in or continue as guest. Then it gives you the option to enter your zip code allowing you to select more than one neighborhood. Then your county and surrounding will pop-up on the left tab bar with drop down menu. The first screen shows neighborhood news feed which has always been the same about phishing, phone call attacks, and email auto-compete. In the top right corner, it is your account preferences where it allows you to invite others and add neighborhoods'. Located in that section is where you can get help with the app. Once you click on the county you wish to view inmates you can select Directory to provide you with address and phone number of that Sheriff's stationThe app is basic not much animation or any sounds to it. Some counties provide missing children with names, ages, and date they went missing. The inmate option shows a list of the most recent inmates that have been booked in that county jail with a basic description of them or it shows the release date if they were recently released The design is basic which makes it easy to navigate through it. But the app does have flaws. It is not always useable it will make the error that it is updating and check back later. The pop-ups are out of control every time you click on an inmate to view it has a advertisement pop-up. It could be more useful it was providing the charges or even a mugshot. The app is useful for my family so when someone is booked in, we can see if they are wanting bonded out of jail. It allows you to select “notify me of status change” which is also usefulBelow are a few screenshots of the app and what it does. It recently just had an update which was an important thing making it more user friendly.
